Submit the post itself, not the account

01

Open the video post

Choose a public feed post that contains video. For short-form content under a /reel/ URL, use the separate Reels tool.

02

Copy the post link

Use Instagram’s Share menu and Copy link action, then paste the full HTTPS URL above without altering its shortcode.

03

Review every returned item

A single post may return one option, while an eligible carousel may return multiple items. Save only the media you intended to check.

Choose the route that matches the Instagram content

The URL path indicates whether this standard-video page is the appropriate tool. A matching path still does not guarantee provider availability.

Feed video or carousel

instagram.com/p/ABC123…

Use this page for a public post containing a video or eligible carousel media.

Instagram Reel

instagram.com/reel/ABC123…

Use the Instagram Reels tool for this short-form route.

Profile URL

instagram.com/username/

A profile does not identify one post and cannot be submitted as a media item.

Carousel limitation: the provider may return one, several, or no compatible media items. Do not assume every slide, image, video, caption, or audio track will be available.

Displayed options describe remote media

The site filters the provider response and presents compatible files; it does not convert the post, increase its resolution, combine carousel slides, add missing audio, or produce a new aspect ratio.

  • Use the format and quality labels shown for the current item
  • Treat absent resolution or audio information as unknown
  • Review carousel items individually before saving
  • Try another displayed option if your device rejects the first file

Why a post returns no usable video

You copied a profile or Explore URL

Open the individual post and copy its Share link. Account pages, Explore results, hashtag pages, and saved collections are not media-item URLs.

The account or post is private

Check the URL in a private browser window. If it needs a login or follower approval, this service cannot access it.

The post contains only images

This page is intended for video media. An image-only post or carousel may not produce a compatible download option.

A carousel video is missing

The provider may return only part of a mixed carousel. Copy the post again and retry later once; the site cannot generate omitted slides.

How an Instagram post URL is handled

1

URL validation

The server checks HTTPS, the submitted host, request limits, and whether a recent filtered response already exists.

2

Provider request

When necessary, the URL is sent to the configured external media provider. Unexpected fields and unsafe media locations are rejected.

3

Limited retention

Filtered lookup data may be cached for about 15 minutes. Recent browser history can remain on that device for up to seven days.

Respect the rights attached to each post

  • Download your own content or obtain the creator’s permission.
  • Account for people, music, artwork, and brands shown in the post.
  • Follow Instagram’s terms and applicable law.

Avoid

  • Circumventing private-account or audience controls.
  • Republishing a creator’s video without permission or context.
  • Assuming public visibility permits commercial reuse.
